Gemma Collins says she might SUE the BBC after horror stage fall

She says she could have died or been seriously injured

Plenty of us have had a good chuckle at Gemma Collins dramatically plunging through a hole in the stage at the Radio 1 Teen Awards this week.

But behind the scenes it’s no laughing matter as the angry TOWIE star has revealed she will consult a lawyer and look into SUING the BBC for alleged negligence.

Gemma, 34, had been at the Wembley event on Sunday to present an award to the Love Island cast, when she twirled on stage and fell straight down an open trapdoor in the centre of the stage.

She landed on top of the Love Island stars, who had been coming up through the trapdoor to get their award.

Now the dust has settled, the furious reality favourite has told The Sun: “I’ve got to consult a lawyer, yeah. The BBC, they’ve not been in touch with any compensation or anything — or even an apology.

“It’s very important this gets sorted out because, really, you know what it is — it’s negligence.

“Do you know what I find shocking? The BBC hasn’t sent any flowers. Nothing.”

Gemma has alleged she wasn’t briefed about the big hole in the stage or the fact the Love Island stars would be coming up through it.

But in a statement, BBC insisted she HAD been briefed.

The corporation said: “The BBC takes the health and safety of everyone involved very seriously and we are awaiting a full report from Remedy – the production company who made the show – about the incident, but they have told us that Gemma did receive a full briefing before going on stage.”

Gemma has insisted she could have died or been seriously injured by the fall, telling The Sun: “I’m in total shock. It is a miracle I am living to tell the tale. I could have died or at least been disabled at the end of it. I could have been legless. Legless!”

Gemma initially laughed off the incident on social media and even posted a funny ‘If you’ve been injured at work…’ meme, but she did a U-Turn the next day.

Phoning into This Morning on Monday, the star said: “The seriousness of it is that it could have been, like, really fatal because what people don’t see is that under there it’s all machinery going on because the three Love Island guys were coming up on stage.

“It could have been fatal but it wasn’t so do you know what? You’ve just got to dust yourself off.

“Yes, I’m in a bit of pain but it was the best moment of my life to stand on stage at Wembley Stadium but I just wish I hadn’t got so excited and spun round to give them the award and fell in the hole.

“My mum was crying her eyes out. I was like, ‘Mum I’m okay!’ and she was like, ‘Gemma, this could have been fatal, you could have died’.”

Despite the incident, Gemma still managed to joke that her bottom was like an “air bag” that had protected her fall.

“It was my left side that hit as I went down. I’ve got a bit of a booty and thank God for that because it has protected me. I have a bruised left bum cheek but apart from that I’m rocking and rolling.”

She apologised to the Love Island stars, saying: “I wiped them out and they had to go see paramedics after.”

“They were screaming ‘Get her up! Her legs are gonna be crushed!’ because the platform underneath was raising up and my legs were dangling over the end of it so thank you to the two Love Island guys.

“But you know what, I lived to tell the tale, I got back up on stage, gave the award and went on to present with Grimmy and Rita.”

Gemma took to Instagram after the incident, telling fans: “So Wembley Stadium people screaming my name and it was just OMG the best and worst moment of my LIFE.

“I’ve always compared myself to Bridget Jones now this confirms it everyone! Madonna stacks it, I stack it. Guys I am okay, and the show must go on. It’s gone VIRAL.”

Get well soon, Gem!
