Furious mum cancels baby shower after people make fun of tot’s name

She just made matters worse for herself

An irate mum-to-be cancelled her baby shower in an epic online rant after people made fun of her tot’s name.

The woman unleashed a foul-mouthed tirade on Facebook accusing her friends and family of being judgemental.

After the message was then posted on Reddit, it received an enormous reaction from even more people poking fun at the name.

The expectant mum had chosen to call her baby Squire Sebastian Senator and had clearly had a less than enthusiastic response from her nearest and dearest.

Axing plans for the celebration with her friends and family, she wrote: “It brings me pain to have to tell you this but I am cancelling the event.

“Why? Why am I doing this? Because y’all have been talking [bleep] about my unborn baby. AN UNBORN CHILD.

“How can you judge an unborn child?? What is wrong with you??

“No, I am not crazy. No, I am not mentally unstable. No, I was not drunk when I named my child.

“His name is Squire Sebastian Senator. That is that. You cannot force me to change his name. This is the name I am meant to give him.

“No, this is not his full name. ‘Squire Sebastian Senator’ is only his first name. This is how it will be.

“He will not be allowed to have a nickname, he is to be called by his full and complete first name.”

She added: “I never knew my family could be so judgmental. We come from a long-lasting family of both squires and senators.

“If you look back in our family tree, that survival of this clan is literally rooted in squiredom. We are all related to senators too.

“This name conveys power. It conveys wealth. It conveys success.”

The woman added that her baby’s name would be a “revolution” and he would live a “powerful, wholesome life”.

Among the comments the rant received on Reddit, one said: “He’s the first kid ever to come home from school with the nickname ‘Stinky’ and be happy about it.”

Another said: “How to raise resentful kids: for dummies.”

A third asked: “What are you gonna do, call the police because people call him Squee?”
