Louise Redknapp joins Cabaret tour, may strain marriage with Jamie Redknapp

This speculation won't go away

Strictly Come Dancing star Louise Redknapp has revealed she’s signing up for a touring production of Cabaret.

But now it’s been suggested that this new career move could put a ‘further’ strain on her marriage to ex footballer Jamie Redknapp.

The new job will mean the singer will be away from her family from September to December.

A so-called source told The Sun: “Jamie and Louise struggled to make time for each other while she was doing Strictly and this touring show is likely to be even more demanding.

“It’s going to really test the resolve of the marriage, especially when they’ll be at opposite sides of the UK at some points.

“Despite his concerns about the effects their schedules will have on their family life, Jamie is committed to making their marriage work.”

The couple tied the knot in 1998 and have two children Charlie, 12, and Beau, eight.

This comes after it was reported in April that the couple are fighting to save their 18-year marriage.

It was claimed by The Sun that their relationship was “under strain” following her appearance on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

A source told The Sun last month: “They still love each other and are desperate to make it work.

“Strictly’s put the marriage under some strain.

“They’ve always appeared to be the happiest couple in showbiz, but the pressure of Strictly Come Dancing has taken its toll.

“It’s been a real shock, but both families are rallying around them and doing their very best to offer support to help ensure they stay together.

“Jamie has spent time away from the house to be with his parents, but he’s back now — and Louise is returning after some work commitments.”

However, a rep for the couple immediately quashed the rumour, stating: “Rumours of separation are completely untrue. Louise and Jamie are looking forward to a nice weekend celebrating.”

But Louise, 42, has insisted the Strictly “curse” would not affect her marriage to Jamie, 43.

In a previous interview she said: “After so many years, it’ll take more than Strictly and a sparkly leotard to cause problems!”

Speaking about her hubby she added: “When I first started doing the show, I thought, ‘This is so not up Jamie’s street’. But I can’t get rid of him.

“Every Saturday he’s in the front row, he’s in the training room and I wasn’t expecting that. I thought I’d go to work, do my thing.

“He said, ‘I think this is going to be great for you, get back out there, show everyone who you are’.

“It’s really nice to see someone you love extremely proud of you.”
