Former Strictly star hits out at same-sex couples on the show

No words were minced

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional, James Jordan, has made some surprising comments about the potential of same-sex couples dancing on the hit BBC One show.

James, who is known for his outspoken views, said he didn’t understand why there was any need for it and even slammed the idea as being ‘insulting to his profession.’

Erm, okay then James. Because there’s nothing insulting about your views, is there?

James told The Daily Star online: “No, there definitely shouldn’t be same-sex couples on Strictly.

“Ballroom and Latin dance is about masculinity and femininity. It’s not about sexual orientation. It’s not a dating show. Why can’t a gay man dance with a woman?

“It’s actually insulting that you’re trying to change our profession with people saying same-sex couples should definitely be on there when it doesn’t need to be.”

Even the show’s judges have said that same-sex partnerships are likely to happen soon. James clearly doesn’t realise what a fossil he’s coming across as.

Strictly came back with a bang on Saturday night, getting it’s highest ever viewing figure.

The couples all danced together for the first time and a staggering 10.2 million people tuned in. That was almost double the X Factor’s figure of 5.4 million.

Meanwhile, since leaving the show, James has made a name for himself by upsetting other people. Just a few weeks ago, he sent a tweet that left Danielle Lloyd furious.

Tweeting his former CBB housemate and Dani’s ex, Jamie O’Hara, James said: “Mate, your still paying for your Mrs while someone else is banging her [sic]” suggesting that Danielle was still being funded by her footie star ex.

Danielle snapped back: “@The_JamesJordan lookin at a CSA letter now sayin he pays NOTHING 4 his kids U may go round banging but u have no right 2 say that about me.”

Clearly upset by the exchange, she added: “@The_JamesJordan is a disgrace of a man you know nothing keep me out your banter nothing manly about that disgusting.”

James then tried to apologise to Dani, but she was having none of it. “He tweeted: “I wasn’t having a dig at you Danielle. I was trying to wind Jamie up. Didn’t want to upset you in any way.”

And she replied: “Don’t care it’s disrespectful please keep me out of your banter it’s not funny am engaged pregnant and don’t need to be involved in [BLEEP].”
