And the journalist’s fans have plenty to say about it.

Premiering on Jan. 23, the show reunites people who lived through landmark events and views history through their eyes.

The six-part series will include stories against the backdrop of World War II, the 1960s Civil Rights Movement and the 9/11 attacks.

When the show was initially announced in the summer, according to Adweek, Ann said: “We are in a time when people actually need to hear these stories of empathy.

“We have forgotten some of this good stuff. What we find are the similarities, and they speak to the similarities in our human family.”

In the trailer, Ann reunites a Japanese-American who was interned in 1942 with the school friend who helped her.

The trailer was posted on YouTube and Twitter where Ann’s supporters shared their comments.

“So glad to see Ann Curry. Can't wait to see this. She's the best at what she does,” one person wrote on YouTube.

Another fan replied: “Yes, I agree with you and I could never understand why she was put to pasture when she is so pleasant and professional at her job.”

Another person wrote: “OK, another show that will make me cry.”

Meanwhile, on Twitter the response was also positive. One person tweeted: “I am so excited! Ann Curry is one of my favorites. I know the show will be fun and informative.”

Ann left Today in 2012 and many fans and industry insiders believe former co-host Matt Lauer helped to oust her from the show.

NBC News fired Matt last week for "inappropriate sexual behavior" in the workplace.
