Katie Price reveals abuse as a child led her to glamour modelling

Loose Women panellist believes it's why she dressed provocatively too

A very brave Katie Price has revealed that she experienced sexual abuse aged seven and that it really affected her life.

The Loose Women panellist opened up on Wednesday’s show and believes that the traumatic experience made her pursue a career in glamour modelling.

In a segment based around abuse, the 38-year-old said: “There was this sexual assault and I was later raped, which I have discussed before and I do believe it led me to dressing provocatively and becoming a model.”

The mum-of-five also said that she was planning a different life path altogether.

Katie added: “I had been training to be a nurse but the glamour modelling world is aimed at men.

“They can look but they can’t touch. You can say or do what you like in a picture.”

She made this confession after Karen Danczuk appeared on the talk show to talk about her brother had rape her and how it had affected her.

Karen believes that by posting provocative selfies, it meant that she could be in control of her body after what had happened to her.

Loose Women viewers were later shown a clip of Katie on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories in which she spoke about it for the first time and broke down.

She said: “I always say it hasn’t affected me. But looking at that clip, it must have. I never cry at anything. That was the first time I had cried over that.”

What’s astonishing and really sad is that three out of four members of the panel have all had to go through abuse of some sort.

Saira Khan has recently spoken out about being molested at 13 by a family member and Janet Street-Porter has also admitted it happened to her too.

Janet said: “I was aged seven or eight and my mother took me to the hairdresser’s. She left me there and he molested me in the chair.

“I was frozen in that chair as he was cutting my hair and I couldn’t move. I told my mother later and she slapped me around the face. She didn’t believe me.”

What a horrendous experience.

Katie has now said that she is so much happier and that her and Kieran are FINALLY back on track.

The very forgiving wife said: “I trust him now and he never gives me a reason to doubt him. I always said I could never forgive him but I wrote him a card for our anniversary saying I do forgive and forget now.

‘The best thing I ever did was stay. I love him more now. The old Kieran has gone. We’re really happy.”

Yay!
