They confirmed their split earlier this month

Anthony Quinlan has said trying to maintain a long-distance relationship with Dianne Buswell was “taxing”.

Emmerdale actor Anthony and Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne broke up earlier this month due to their busy schedules and living in different cities, however, insisted they still remain “close friends”.

In a new interview with The Sun, Anthony spoke about the end of their romance.

He said: “Over the ten months in which we were dating, it was very up and down. Just being in a long distance. We still remain amicable.

“It’s just the long distance thing was quite taxing for us both. But we are still good friends, you know. And like I said these things happen day to day.”

Anthony, who plays Pete Barton in the soap, added: “The fact of the matter is relationships don’t always work. It is taxing when you’ve got a distance between each other. When we were together we had a great time.”
