As Ross writhed around on the ground in agony, viewers were stunned by the graphic scenes, particularly as the acid was shown eroding the paint from a near-by car.

Luckily for Ross Graham Foster was there and somehow knew exactly how to help him, washing the acid away with clean water and potentially making the injuries less than they could have been.

But Ross faces an absolute living nightmare now as he has to come to terms with what’s happened and the likelihood he’ll be permanently scarred.

During last night’s episode, the doctors acted as fast as they could to remove the acid and restore the PH balance to Ross’ skin, but it wasn’t enough and he was informed some skin would need to be removed.

Viewers were horrified by his injuries which had left one half of his face burned and bleeding.

His brother Pete cried out in shock when he saw the extent of the damage to Ross’ face, leaving Ross panicking about what this meant for him.

He begged doctors to tell him that they’d be able to fix it and put everything back to how it was, but the medic was unable to answer, leaving Ross stunned.

Ross will now have to come to terms with the fact he will have lifelong scarring from the incident.

Sadly, it seems like things are going to get worse for Ross before they get better as next week, he’ll struggle to accept what’s happened.

Michael Parr who plays Ross has spoken out about the tough storyline, saying: “It’s a big responsibility and one that I was very nervous about taking on.

“I know it’s a reality for some people and it’s so important to get it right and do the story justice.
