EastEnders star’s ex launches attack on Twitter – then deletes messages

Former lovers have been at each other's throats

One of S Club 7’s most popular songs was Bring It All Back, and one of the band’s singers brought it all back when he appeared to launch a Twitter attack on his ex-girlfriend last night.

Paul Cattermole, 40, dated his S Club colleague Hannah Spearritt, 36, for five years before they called time on their relationship in 2006.

Over the past few weeks, the former lovers have been at each other’s throats, with Paul making newspaper accusations about their split, and Hannah mocking him for it.

And last night, Paul really came out fighting, sending a series of tweets that seemed to point the finger at Hannah – before deleting them.

In a recent interview with The Sun, Paul suggested that Hannah had dumped him for dubious reasons.

Possibly alluding to Hannah’s subsequent engagement to actor Andrew-Lee Potts, he explained: “I very much felt [that] she thought she needed to prioritise her career.

“I’m betting she was told: ‘So your current boyfriend is doing music stuff. Well, that’s great, but you really need an actor boyfriend.'”

Hannah was clearly unimpressed with Paul’s comments, as she tweeted a link to the article along with the words: “Cringe. Someone’s broke again… Hilarious! #tragic.”

But that didn’t stop Paul from going on the offensive again last night.

The Hertfordshire-born singer started off by tweeting a quote from the ancient Greek philosopher Epictetus (well, he didn’t get it quite right but it was near enough).

He wrote: “Appearances are of 4 kinds: – 1) things are as they appear to be, 2) they neither are not appear to be…

“3) they are but do not appear to be… 4) or they are not and yet appear to be. Epictetus.”

Quite what he meant by that, we’re not entirely certain, but it seemed to be a dig at his former squeeze. And he followed it up with a nod to fans who’ve fought his corner.

He said: “Thanks for the dm’s of support people think ‘stand your ground bro’ and ‘you don’t need that negativity in your life’ your guys are awake! [sic]”

Paul then concluded his night’s work with another philosophical murmuring, which appeared to be a bit more optimistic.

He mused: “Like a flaming Phoenix rising out of the ashes of its former self. Or a caterpillar that been crystallised and then fly.”

Or at least it SEEMED like he’d concluded his night’s work. The singer then promptly DELETED the tweets.

Hannah already has plenty on her plate at the moment – she’s started filming her first scenes for EastEnders, in which she’ll star as Karen Taylor’s sister Kandice.

Somehow, we doubt that career path will be any less stressful!
