Duggars welcome child number 20 to the family

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar named legal guardians of eight-year-old nephew

It’s now 20 Kids and Counting…

The Duggars have welcomed their 20th child to the family after Jim Bob and Michellle were  declared legal guardians of their eight-year-old grand-nephew.

The boy was taken in by the reality TV family after his ‘unemployed and homeless’ mom Rachel Hutchins, who is Michelle’s niece, was unable to take care of him.

He’s been living with the strict Christian family for the past four months but now an Arkansas judge has officially granted a request made by Jim Bob and his wife to become permanent guardians of the boy, according to InTouch magazine.

The judge stated it was in the ‘best interest’ of the child.

“Jim Bob and Michelle have made the child feel right at home,” a source told the magazine.

“They treat him like their own and he looks up to them as parents.”

The boy’s mom Rachel reportedly supported the ruling and is being allowed supervised visits.

She was arrested back in April for breaking and entering and is currently on probation.

Rachel gave up custody in August 2015 to Michelle’s sister Carolyn – then the Duggars stepped in after Carolyn suffered a stroke.

The young mom, who had her son in her teens, was close to the Duggars – often posting pictures of herself hanging out with members of the family on her Facebook page.

“She’s a good person, but she’s made some bad decisions,” a source told the magazine earlier this year.

It comes just months after the Duggars show 19 Kids and Counting was canceled amid a huge sexual abuse scandal.

Back in June the family confirmed that their son Josh Duggar had molested five minors when he was a teen – including four of his sisters.
