Idris Elba wins 2017 Rear of the Year, beating Prince Harry and Harry Styles

It's the award every celeb secretly wants!

Actor Idris Elba has been named 2017 male Rear of the Year, beating both Prince Harry and Harry Styles to the top (bottom!) spot.

The Dark Tower star was voted best celebrity bottom in the annual contest, taking the coveted title from last year’s winner and fellow big screen actor, Tom Hiddleston.

The red-haired royal came second place, followed by 1997 winner Gary Barlow in third, singer and Dunkirk star Styles in fourth, and Fifty Shades Of Grey lead, Jamie Dornan, in fifth position.

Meanwhile, the crown for best female rear was won by Countdown presenter Rachel Riley, 31, taking the baton from Hollyoaks star, Jennifer Metcalfe.

In a line-up dominated by well-known TV presenters, she beat Britain’s Got Talent’s Alesha Dixon in third position, ITV This Morning’s Holly Willoughby in fourth position, and previous two-time winner, Carol Vorderman, in fifth.

In second place was War & peace star Lily James.

Commenting on the results of the awards’ 36th year, organiser Tony Edwards said that cyclist and fitness enthusiast Riley’s asset “marked a contrast to the exaggerated, fake, cosmetic look, recently imported from the USA, which is unlikely to win any style awards in the UK.”

He said of Elba: “Idris is also a kick boxer which, along with his other workouts, has ensured a particularly well-toned, firm rear… no signs of flab on this 45-year-old.”

Edwards added: “Both Idris and Rachel’s celebrity rears represent perfect examples of today’s toned and firm gluteus maximus – with quality rather than quantity as the essential fashion keynote. Biggest is not best when it comes to bottoms.”
