Health fears for Danniella Westbrook as she’s pictured outside hospital

She's been in the wars lately

Poor Danniella Westbrook has really been struggling with health problems in recent years, and judging by reports in today’s newspapers, she’s still not quite right.

Pictures released by The Sun Online showed the former EastEnders actress, 44, standing outside a hospital with her finger in her mouth as if she was in some discomfort.

And the snaps are likely to cause concern among fans of the star, as she revealed last month that she was in “unbearable” pain and “praying” that she wouldn’t suffer a reoccurrence of the septicaemia that almost claimed her life two years ago.

Danniella has spoken openly about the health woes that have plagued her in recent times, explaining that botched dental surgery led to her developing osteoporosis in her face.

That, in turn, led to the potentially deadly blood infection septicaemia.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain in May, she told presenter Susanna Reid: “The screws – which they have left in – the bone didn’t close around them when I had implants, which led to blood getting into the bone so it just died.

“That gave me the septicaemia, which gave me the bone disease. [It] started rotting away – and it’s all down to that.”

The following month, Dan explained to her 231,000 Twitter followers that she was suffering.

She wrote: “Super poorly face has swollen up so so bad and pain unbearable waiting to hear if I need to go back in hospital and praying it’s not septicaemia again… could cry.”

Danniella’s former addiction to cocaine has been widely reported, but during her Good Morning Britain interview she insisted that her osteoporosis was not caused by drugs.

She explained: “When I was doing excessive amounts of drugs and lost my nose, I would have got it then, not after being 13 years clean.

“I wouldn’t have just got it in the last three years.”

Whatever it was that Danniella was in hospital for, we really hope she starts to feel better soon.
