Danielle Lloyd “terrified” she’ll be given life-changing diagnosis

Her mum has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia

Danielle Lloyd has revealed fears she’ll develop the same life-changing condition as her mum which causes pain all over the body.

In an interview with Daily Star, the former Celebrity Big Brother housemate revealed her mother Jackie has fibromyalgia, which can leave her in “excruciating pain”.

Danielle said: “Mum lives with excruciating pain which means she struggles to get out of bed. Being touched can often feel like being hit with a hammer.

“I am terrified every day that I am going to develop it too.”

The 34-year-old added: “Fibromyalgia is hereditary and I am scared I will get it too because we’re so similar. She also has high cholesterol and a blocked artery so I am going to get tested to see if I have the same gene.

“I try not to worry but sometimes you can’t stop.”

Danielle appeared with Jackie on ITV’s Lorraine last year, where they spoke about Jackie’s devastating diagnosis, which is often referred to as the “invisible illness”.

Jackie was diagnosed three years ago. She told Lorraine Kelly she’s in pain “constantly” after noticing changes in her body seven years ago, which she initially put down to going through menopause.

Jackie explained: “It’s like a burning sensation from inside out, like your body is on fire. All your nerve endings, muscles, tendons, everything from head to toe.

“I’ve had every tablet under the sun but nothing takes that pain away.

“It takes your life away. I feel like I don’t have control of my life anymore. The pain controls my life.”

Danielle said they wanted to raise awareness of the condition so that people like Jackie can get all the help they need.

They’ve both been supporting a petition, launched by Adrienne Lakin, which aims to get fibromyalgia classed as a disability.

More than 100,000 people have signed the petition so far, which means the next stage could be a debate at a parliamentary petitions committee.
