Daisy Lowe shuts down Lorraine over Louise and Jamie Redknapp comments

She wouldn't be drawn on questions about their marriage split

Since the news broke that Louise and Jamie Redknapp’s marriage was on the rocks, there’s been fervent speculation about Daisy Lowe’s involvement in the break-up.

Louise has revealed that Daisy encouraged her to wear “sexy” clothes while the two stars appeared on Strictly Come Dancing last year, and admitted she could feel herself “changing week by week”.

Not only that, but in the past few months the girls have been pictured out on the town and enjoying a sauna together.

However, appearing on today’s Lorraine, Daisy appeared unwilling to accept that she’d had a part in the Redknapps’ split, pointing out that her influence on Louise had been entirely innocent.

“We bonded over our love of theatre and dancing,” said the 28-year-old model. “Louise and I were each other’s cheerleaders.”

Daisy did admit that former Eternal singer Louise, 42, had changed during the series, but claimed it was for the better.

She explained: “Louise is so much fun – it was good to see her come alive and blossom that way.”

It certainly didn’t do her dancing any harm – along with her professional dance partner Kevin Clifton, Louise came runner-up in the series.

But shortly after the show finished, it became obvious that all was not well with the Redknapps’ marriage. Louise was seen holidaying in Majorca with the couple’s two sons while Jamie stayed at home.

And then it was reported that Louise had moved out of the family home.

It appeared that the notorious Strictly ‘curse’ had struck again.

However, Daisy refused to say any more on the subject, telling Lorraine: “I love Jamie, I love Louise, I love their kids – but they have asked for their privacy.”

Earlier this week, Louise found herself defending Daisy, saying: “She’s a breath of fresh air because she has absolutely no filter.

“She completely believes in following your passion and fulfilling yourself as a woman, which I find really inspiring.”

And only yesterday, Lorraine Kelly herself was offering her opinion on the subject.

The presenter appeared to be miffed over why Louise felt she had to break away from her marriage to live out her dreams.

“What I can’t understand – I hear what she’s saying, but it’s not one or the other. You can have a career and a family,” she said.
