Yes, it’s true, Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon – better known as troubled teen Bethany Platt – has signed up for a new show.

But don’t worry, she’s not leaving the cobbles behind her.

She’s one of seven celebrities taking part in ITV Christmas special, All Star Musicals – with Michael Crawford.

Lucy will appear alongside Emmerdale’s Michael Parr, actor and presenter Sir Tony Robinson, former athlete Denise Lewis OBE, radio and TV star Nicky Campbell, actress and comedian Sally Phillips and actress Rebecca Front.

Each one of the celebs will choose a song from a musical and will train with some of the West End’s best known stars.

They’ll then perform the song to a packed out audience at iconic venue, the London Palladium. It all sounds absolutely terrifying if you ask us!

But the stars will have help on hand from musical legend, Michael Crawford, who will be alongside them to offer support, guidance and encouragement.

Michael, has a West End career spanning five decades and has both Tony and Olivier awards to his name. So the celebs are in pretty safe hands.

The all-star, all-singing extravaganza will be hosted by former cricketer Freddie Flintoff, who will make his own stage debut in Fat Friends: The Musical later this year.

The celebs will be choosing songs from a wide range of musicals from Guys and Dolls, to Chicago and Evita.

Lucy, 21, has been playing Bethany Platt since 2015. Over the last two and a half years, her character has been involved in some hard-hitting storylines.

Bethany was bullied at school when she first arrived, and this led to developing an eating disorder, using exercise and diet pills to lose weight.

She then developed a crush on the man her mum was secretly dating, before being snared by sexual predator, Nathan Curtis, who groomed her for sex with his friends.

The grooming storyline won Lucy praise from critics following several heartbreaking performances.

With all that in the bank, it sounds like All Star Musicals will be a walk in the park for her.
