Corrie’s Lucy Fallon leaves fans gobsmacked with tea confession

Lucy Fallon has shocked fans by revealing she’s never tasted a cup of tea in her life!

The Coronation Street actress revealed on Twitter on Wednesday that she’s never enjoyed a cuppa and doesn’t plan to have a brew in the future either!

In a tweet that caused chaos among her Corrie fanbase, Lucy,who plays Bethany Platt, said: “Never had a cup of tea in my life and I intend to keep it that way.”

Within minutes fans began replying to Lucy’s tweet, saying they were baffled by her confession.

One person said: “What?????? I can’t cope without a good cup of tea,” while another joked: “Are you even English?”

A third tweeted: “May God forgive you. You are in a show that is as British as seaside rock, fish and chips, and the proper English cuppa. Come on Miss Fallon, get the kettle on, find a box of Yorkshire Tea and you will never look back!!”

Another said: “You haven’t lived Lucy! Get yourself one at Roy’s cafe,” referring to Corrie character Roy Cropper’s cafe Roy’s Rolls.

Clearly surprised by her fans’ response, Lucy tweeted: “I feel like I’ve let everyone down.”

In another tweet replying to a fan, Lucy said: “It’s just the way it smells I can’t get onboard with it.”

Meanwhile, others were on the same page as Lucy and admitted they aren’t big fans of a cup of tea.

One person said: “Not the only once Lucy, it’s disgusting. Do keep it that way. COFFEE RULES.”

Another wrote: “I’ve never had a cup of tea either! People think I’m so weird.”

Lucy’s tweet caused so much commotion that even the official Twitter account for Yorkshire Tea responded and attempted to change Lucy’s thoughts on the hot drink.

After the company’s account followed Lucy’s page, she tweeted: “Don’t start thinking you can change my mind @YorkshireTea,” followed by a laughing face emoji.

Yorkshire Tea’s page replied: “Nobody should be forced to live a life without tea! It’s our moral duty to try and rescue you.”

Lucy responded: “All you can do is try.”
