Coronation Street and Emmerdale filming thrown into chaos by the snow!

The Beast from the East is causing problems!

As we all shiver inside thanks to the Beast from the East and Storm Emma, spare a thought for the cast and crew of our fave soaps – who are trying to struggle on despite the snow!

Filming has been disrupted on all the soaps, thanks to the dreadful wintery weather we’re suffering with some cast members being stranded, and schedules having to be changed to take account of what’s going on.

In Corrie, some of the outdoor set has been cleared of snow, and elsewhere the filming schedules have been switched round so most of the filming being done while the weather is bad is indoor shots.

And thanks to the quick-thinking of the production teams, we can rest assured that our soap viewing isn’t going to be affected by the snow.

Phew!

Some soap actors took to social media to share pics and stories of the snow.

Mark Jordon, who plays Daz in Emmerdale shared his struggle to get to work.

“Walked for an hour to get to my local village train station,” he wailed. “Arrived at the town we were filming in today only to find out today is cancelled.”

But his Emmerdale colleagues were very sympathetic.

“Treat yourself to some sweets when you get in,” suggested Tony Audenshaw, aka Bob.

But Katherine Dow Byton, who plays Harriet, had a much better idea.

“May I suggest a glass of port and brandy,” she said. “No one got warm from a sherbet dib-dab.”

She’s got a point!

It looked pretty in the village, though, as Chris Bisson (Jai) showed us when he shared a pic of the snowy Yorkshire hills

Over in Corrie Nicola Thorp, who plays Nicola Rubinstein, showed off her warm clothes saying she was “dressed for the trenches not the cobbles”.

And poor Helen Flanagan, who plays Rosie in Corrie, was snowed in up in Glasgow, where she lives with her Celtic player boyfriend Scott Sinclair and their daughter Matilda.

But she did share a super-cute snap of the family heading out to the shop for supplies – so it wasn’t all bad news!
