Coleen, who shares four sons with husband Wayne, recently revealed the reason why she and Wayne broke with tradition when it came to Cass’ name.

Having already had sons Kai, eight, Klay, five, and Kit, two, many fans just presumed the couple would choose another name beginning with K.

But in a chat with Hello! Magazine, Coleen said the couple chose to spell Cass with a C as they preferred the meaning of that name.

She explained: “I’ve always liked the name Cassius and I had thought about calling one of my other sons that and Cass for short. And I do like short names and Cass is quite strong.

“Then I was looking into the name in the name book, it was spelt with a K as well. But with a K it meant blackbird, but with a C one of the meanings was clever.”

Coleen is getting ready to uproot her life in the UK and move to America.

Footballer Wayne has landed a two-year contract with Washington’s D.C. United and Coleen has confirmed she and the boys will be joining him in the States.

Wayne’s already in America playing, while Coleen is sorting things out at home ahead of moving.

However, she’s vowed it will only be a temporary relocation.

She told Reveal magazine: “We’re not going forever. He’s got the contract and then after that, we’re coming home – that’s the nice thing about it.

“While we’re there, we’ve got to enjoy it and make the most of it. People keep saying, ‘You might love it that much you don’t want to come home.’ But home for is home.

“I know I’ll definitely want to come back by the end of it.”

Coleen recently flew over to D.C. with eldest son Kai to explore their soon-to-be-hometown with Wayne, sharing pics to social media of their time together.

Wayne has said in previous interviews he chose to work in D.C. rather than New York or Los Angeles as it offered a quieter, more family-friendly environment.
