Coleen Rooney’s concerns for son Klay as family moves to America

The star has spoken about her Stateside worries

Coleen Rooney has lifted the lid on her family’s move to America and admitted she is worried about how her son Klay will cope.

Coleen, 32, confirmed last month that she and the kids are heading to the States after her footballer hubby Wayne signed for D.C. United in Washington.

But speaking about their new adventure for the first time, Coleen has said she does have concerns about uprooting her family – particularly their son Klay, five.

In an interview with The Mirror, Coleen admitted: “My eldest [Kai, eight] is so outgoing he is fine – you put him anywhere and he will get on with it.

“But my five year old loves home and being comforted. He said, ‘What are my friends going to do without me?’.

“But they are young enough to adapt to it – and there are so many school holidays anyway.”

Coleen recently jetted out to Washington with Kai, Klay, two-year-old Kit and six-month-old Cass.

Wayne is already living in the city and the trip gave them all the chance to house-hunt, look for new schools and get a general feel of the area.

But although Wayne is reportedly set to earn a whopping £300,000 a week from the club, the move will also be hard on Coleen.

The Liverpudlian is notoriously close to her parents, Colette and Tony, and spends a lot of time with them back home in the UK.

Opening up about the moment she broke the news to her mum, Coleen told The Mirror it was an “emotional conversation”.

Nonetheless, the mum-of-four believes it is important for the children to be with both their parents and she touched upon this when originally confirming the news to fans.

Coleen had tweeted: “Wishing our Daddy and my Wayne all the luck, happiness and success in America!!! It’s a move we are going to do as a family.”

Wayne, meanwhile, recently told The Sun: “I think this is a great place to bring my family.”
