Coleen Rooney ‘makes new plea to Wayne’ amidst alleged marriage troubles

She wants them to have a future together

Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s marriage has reportedly been on the rocks since he was caught driving another woman’s car, with her next to him.

It has now been reported, that to help save their marriage, Coleen has told Wayne to curb his gambling.

Reports also allege that Coleen wants her husband to stop being friends with fellow footballer Wes Brown, who he has been on nights out with.

Wes is his ex team mate, and according to The Sun Coleen feels he is a bad influence to her husband.

A friend of Coleen’s said to The Sun: “Coleen has told Wayne his gambling needs to stop.

“When he’s out with Wes, their betting has a tendency to get out of control.

“She’s pinpointed Wes as a reason why Wayne is led astray.

“With Wes out of the scene, she hopes Wayne will become more of a stay-at-home family man.”

Wes was reportedly with Wayne on the night he drove a car while three times over the drink drive limit.

Wayne was charged with the offence after pleading guilty. He was sentenced to a two-year driving ban, a 12-month community order and 100 hours of unpaid charity work by Stockport Magistrates Court.

Coleen, who is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, was nowhere to be seen during the court proceedings.

After the judge passed sentence, Wayne broke his silence by releasing a statement. It read: “Following today’s court hearing I want publicly to apologise for my unforgivable lack of judgement in driving while over the legal limit. It was completely wrong.

“I have already said sorry to my family, my manager and chairman and everyone at Everton FC.

“Now I want to apologise to all the fans and everyone else who has followed and supported me throughout my career.

“Of course I accept the sentence of the court and hope that I can make some amends through my community service.”

The court case follows revelations Wayne was driving the VW Beetle car of Laura Simpson, a 29-year-old office worker, who was with him at the time, travelling to her house.

At first Laura said the rendezvous was far from innocent, telling the MailOnline the pair had shared “a kiss and cuddle” and would probably have slept together if the arrest hadn’t happened.

However, she later denied it on This Morning, saying: “I’ve not kissed and I’ve not cuddled him and if I did there would have been a lot more coverage because we were in a bar.”
