Cheryl ‘making major TV comeback with brand new BBC dance show’

We'll so be watching!

| Updated:

Cheryl is reportedly set for a major TV comeback, fronting a dance show for the BBC.

The Sun claims the singer spent Tuesday evening filming for a new entertainment series called The Greatest Dancer.

According to their TV insiders, Cheryl will be a “dance captain” on the show, which has been created by Simon Cowell’s production company, Syco.

Cheryl will act as a mentor to contestants, much like she has previously as a judge on X Factor.

There have been rumours that Cheryl joining The Greatest Dancer is a ‘snub to X Factor’ but given it’s been created by X Factor boss Simon’s company, that doesn’t seem likely!

The show will reportedly also star Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, 39, Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo, 25, Glee actor Matthew Morrison, 39, and Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Oti Mabuse, 27.

The celebs reportedly filmed a run-through for the show, which is slated to air on Saturday nights on BBC1, at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, where fans snapped selfies with Cheryl.

The Sun’s source said: “Cheryl’s always been associated with ITV. She was made a star by Popstars: The Rivals.

“Moving to the BBC is a huge deal for her. It’s a trial run at this point. But everyone is hoping it’ll get the green light.”

The insider added that Cheryl will be “the star of the show” and everyone involved reckons it will be a huge success.

It could mean two major TV jobs for the singer, as she’s still rumoured to be returning for the new series of X Factor this year.

Cheryl has been a busy lady recently, as she’s been back in the studio making a brand new album.

She’s been working with ex-bandmate, Nicola Roberts, as well as producer Naughty Boy and last year’s X Factor champions Rak Su.

The former Girls Aloud star has also been doing charity work, appearing recently at the Prince’s Trust ‘Invest in Futures’ event.

She wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of her talking to Prince Charles: “It was an honour to see The Prince of Wales again last night at the @princestrust Invest in Futures event at St James’s Palace where we celebrated the one-year anniversary of the @lorealmakeup ‘All Worth It’ confidence training programme.. Inspiring”.
