Liam Payne and Cheryl consider wedding plans with differing visions

The new parents have different views on how big their wedding should be

Liam Payne and Cheryl, who became parents to a son last week, are already talking marriage – but have different views on how their wedding should be.

“Because this will be her third marriage, Cheryl doesn’t want a circus,” a source told Closer.

“She’d rather have just close friends and family. She’d also love the baby to be sitting on their laps in the wedding photos. But, in contrast, Liam would still like a huge celebration. He wants to shout about their wedding from the rooftop.”

The couple, who have yet to reveal the name of their first child, are already loving being parents.

Cheryl’s first marriage, to England footballer Ashley Cole in 2006, was an extravagant affair. She wore a £500,000 dress, had a horse-drawn carriage and seven bridesmaids. They split in 2010 following repeated allegations that Ashley had been unfaithful.

In 2014, Cheryl stunned fans when she revealed that she’d married French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini after a three-month whirlwind romance. The couple had a secret wedding on a beach in Mustique with just four guests.

Cheryl revealed the news on Instagram and her own website, causing the website to crash.

That marriage ended after just 19 months. The couple were granted a decree nisi in just 14 seconds on 20 October 2016.

Divorce papers showed that Cheryl had cited her husband’s unreasonable behaviour, saying it had caused her “stress and weight loss”.

Liam previously dated dancer Danielle Peazer from October 2010 until May 2013.

He then quickly moved onto a new relationship with Sophia Smith, who he had known since primary school.

He and Sophia split in October 2015, just weeks before he got together with Cheryl. The One Direction star is said to have had a long-time crush on the former X Factor judge.

Liam and Cheryl first met in 2008, when Liam was a 14-year-old auditioning for the X Factor. Cheryl was a judge and described him as “cute”. He didn’t make it past the judges’ houses stage, but returned to the show two years later and became part of One Direction.
