There have been countless examples of celebs seeming to get things all their own way when it comes to the rules.
But one A-list couple have found that the powers at the top of Woking Borough Council refused to be swayed by their famous constituents.
Cheryl and Liam Payne have been denied in a bid to extend their palatial pad, with the pair planning to more than double the size of the building.
The former X Factor judge and the One Direction singer – who have a baby son, Bear – wanted to increase the size of their home by an incredible 133 per cent.
And Liam had his heart set on a giant garage to house his considerable collection of cars, including a £260,000 Lamborghini and even the flying car from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Potter-fan Liam bought the 1960 Ford Anglia 105E in 2015 for a reported six-figure sum, and needs somewhere to store it.
And that’s not even mentioning Cheryl’s Bentley and another £100,000 Porsche.

However, the planners at Woking Borough Council have reportedly stubbornly refused to give the project the go-ahead.
With the proposed enhancements taking the property from 93.37 cubic metres to a staggering 199, it was simply too much change and would spoil the views of the surrounding countryside.
And not be in keeping with the styles of the nearby buildings.
And to make matters worse, as the famous couple’s plans included interlinking passageways between the main house and the garage, the entire plan needs to be scrapped with new ones drawn up.
The house already boasts five bedrooms, a dance studio, pool house and tennis court, and was snapped up by Liam in 2015.
And Liam has put in no fewer than six applications for planning since moving in, which have included a ‘granny flat’ following the birth of son Bear and a showstopping indoor pool complete with tropical plants and its own stream.
