Celebrity Big Brother set for twist as winners of upcoming task to be granted power to save housemates in next nominations

There's everything to play for in driving task

| Updated:

Celebrity Big Brother have stunned housemates and viewers once again by announcing a shock twist to this Friday’s double eviction.

Fans have been desperate to find out what the show had up its sleeve when the voting phone lines failed to open after Daniel O’Reilly, Ann Widdecombe, Rachel Johnson, Andrew Brady and John Barnes were all nominated for eviction earlier this week.

The five big characters faced an early exit thanks to the men of the house being given the power to vote.

But then Rylan Clark-Neal teased on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side that it wasn’t going to be as simple as that and there was another surprise in store.

“Big Brother is a game. And Big Brother is playing its own game.

“You’ll have noticed we haven’t opened the vote tonight, guys, and that’s because there is a Big Brother nominations twist on its way.”

“I’m not going to tell you what it is yet!” he added but the housemates have now found out – and couldn’t be more surprised.

The celebs gasped when they heard the eviction will hinge on the “Driving School” task they have just been set.

The stars have been paired up to share “cars” which will lap a track throughout the BB compound as they compete to be the best drivers and answer quiz questions.

There’s everything to play for as the winning couple will get to decide part of the outcome of Friday’s eviction.

Explaining the twist, Big Brother told the open-mouthed housemates: “The team with the most points at the end of the task will win the power of the house. But that is not all.

“Housemates as you are aware Ann, Rachel, Daniel, Andrew and John are up for eviction this week, but the winners of the task will get the power to save one of these housemates and replace them with any other housemate of their choice.”

If one of the already nominated housemates wins, they will be able to save themselves and nominate someone else to face the boot in their place.

Andrew has already admitted he would have no problem swapping himself for another if he was the driving champion, while Daniel (AKA Dapper Laughs) said he hopes his male friends would “help a brother out” and save him if they have the power.

The news has certainly shaken up the house and will not only cause tensions to rise in the Driving School challenge, but could also lead to a lot of sucking up between friends in the hope they’ll save them in the event they win.
