Catherine Tyldesley shares hilarious pictures from Corrie Christmas party

A far cry from a night down the Rovers

As Eva Price in Coronation Street, she hasn’t had the best year, but infidelities, fake pregnancies and cancelled nuptials were obviously far from Catherine Tyldesley’s mind as she celebrated at the Corrie Christmas party on Friday night.

Dressed to kill in a Jessica Rabbit-style fitted red gown, 34-year-old Catherine and her Corrie castmates certainly appeared to be letting their hair down at their yuletide bash in Manchester, captioning one pic: “I think I had a good night.”

Catherine shared a variety of shots from the knees-up, including a fun photo-booth style snap of her with co-stars Shayne Ward and Georgia Taylor and myriad fun props.

Another pic showed the obvious affection she and Shayne Ward have for each other off screen, despite their tempestuous on-screen relationship.

The fun continued as Catherine – who recently announced her departure after seven years on the show – cosied up to Antony Cotton who plays Sean Tully in the soap, jokingly referring to him as ‘the cheekiest ferret face’. Bless!

Judging by Cath’s Instagram feed, she’s something of a fan of the festive season, having also shared with her fans the fruits of her home decorating labours, including a very opulent and towering Christmas tree, and the adventures of her  (or perhaps her two-year-old son Alfie’s) mischievous Elf on the Shelf.

Speaking to the Sun about her summer 2018 departure from Weatherfield, Catherine said that it had been a difficult decision to leave her ‘dream job’.

“Eva has been such fun to play over the last seven years, and who knows, one day she might storm the cobbles of Weatherfield again,” she told the paper, just weeks after co-star Shayne’s May 2018 departure was also announced.

“In the meantime I’m excited about the future, new acting projects, and spending time with my family.”

And for the next few weeks, we reckon that time will mainly be spent keeping little Alfie away from wrecking that  amazing tree…
