Mum-of-one Catherine captioned the post: “#elfontheshelf #day1 #christmas #Alfie.”

In the actual clip Catherine showed the trial leading up to the calendar as she said: “What?! What’s this? Alfie, what’s going on?”

As a surprised Alfie picked up the Elf toy, Catherine added: “Oh my word! It was Elf on the Shelf, he did that?”

Alfie then replied: “Yeah.”

How cute!

Fans praised Cath for creating the magical moment for Alfie and gushed over the cute video.

“Awww soooooooo darn cute,” another said.

Catherine has Alfie with hubby Tom Pitford.

The actress, who plays Eva Price on Corrie, recently announced she’s leaving the ITV soap to reportedly pursue other acting roles, including more dramatic parts.

“Coronation Street has been a dream job for me which is why this was such a difficult decision to leave,” Catherine told The Sun.

“Eva has been such fun to play over the last seven years and who knows, one day she might storm the cobbles of Weatherfield again.”
