Catherine Tyldesley hits back at train passenger who ‘body-shamed’ her

What a response!

Catherine Tyldesley has revealed her response to a man who made a rude comment about her body on a train.

The former Coronation Street actress took to Twitter on Monday to vent about the situation, revealing the passenger told her she had “big child-bearing hips” after bumping into her.

Following in the incident, Catherine, 34, told her followers exactly what had happened.

She wrote: “When some guy on the train bumps into you then blames my hips?!? What the actual fudge?!

“Nice to see body shaming is on the decrease… ‘Big Child bearing hips’ said the cheeky sod.”

She added: “Yes they are, and I can probably dead lift twice your body weight love. #backoff.”

As fans rushed to comment on Catherine’s tweet, the star revealed the man even asked her for a selfie after his remark.

Replying to one person, Cath said: “Think he’d had a few. No excuse … he then asked me for a selfie. I told him my hips probably wouldn’t fit on the picture.”

In another post, Catherine told a fan: “It’s cool – these hips gave me [her son] Alfie.”

Other people praised Catherine for her response.

Catherine has been busy spending time with her husband Tom Pitford and their son Alfie, three, since leaving Corrie earlier this year.

The star wrapped up filming her final scenes as her character Eva Price in June.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, viewers saw barmaid Eva leave Weatherfield.

Catherine took to Instagram ahead of Eva’s final scene in the soap to reflect on the last seven years playing the character.

She posted a snap of a scene from the show where Eva is cradling Susie while speaking to Kate Connor (Faye Brookes).

She wrote: “Well this REALLY is it guys… #Eva’s final episodes are on this evening.
