Carol McGiffin reveals how Frank Lampard turned her to mush with Christine remarks

She's an ol' romantic at heart!

| Updated:

Carol McGiffin has admitted she got a bit mushy when reading how Frank Lampard fell for his wife Christine.

The former footballer revealed on BBC Radio 5 Live last week how it was “love at first sight” when he met television presenter Christine.

And writing in her latest Best magazine column, Carol had some interesting remarks.

Carol, who is happily engaged to her fiancé Mark Cassidy, said: “I must be going soft in my old age.

“While reading about footballer Frank Lampard falling for presenter Christine Bleakley, I developed one of those daft grins that women get when they look at babies or watch Love Actually.

“Especially when Frank said it was more or less love at first sight.”

Carol went on to say that she “has faith in that instant recognition and love for one person by another that is so strong it feels as if you have known them or had a connection before – like in a past life.”

She added: “It’s the same as finding The One, that person you’re meant to be with but that not everyone is lucky enough to meet.”

Carol has been engaged to her partner Mark for nearly ten years.

They delayed their wedding date while Carol battled cancer, but she insisted last year the wedding was very much still on.

In an interview with Woman magazine back in 2015, she said of Mark: “It feels like we’re already married. We don’t need to get married – it’s that we want to.”

Mark added: “It’s just about being in love.”

And Carol told Bella mag the same year that she couldn’t imagine life without Mark.

“As soon as I met Mark, I just knew he was the one,” she said. “We kind of met each other at the right time.”

Aww!
