Brian McFadden forced to cancel gig after falling ill

The voice comes first

It’s been a rollercoaster of a day for Westlife fans.

First, it was reported that Louis Walsh was getting closer to the dream Westlife reunion he’s been talking about for years.

Although he was supposedly at pains to make clear Brian McFadden, a former member of Westlife, wouldn’t be included.

And now it’s come to light that Brian himself has had to cancel a performance this week after coming down with a bad throat.

He’s been performing alongside former BoyZone member Keith Duffy, with the duo calling themselves “Boyzlife.”

Unfortunately, Keith took to Twitter earlier today to write: “I regret that Boyzlife will not be performing at @exeter_phoenix tonight due to @BrianMcFadden throat illness. Apologies to all fans We promise your tickets will get used on another date ASAP. Happy Christmas to all.”

Brian immediately quoted the tweet with his own apology, saying: “I’m gutted. We were on such a roll. I have been pushing through the last 3 gigs but last night was the final straw x”.

The duo had been travelling up and down the country performing some of Westlife and Boyzone’s greatest hits, including renditions of Flying Without Wings, No Matter What, I Love The Way You Love Me, Swear It Again, Picture of You and many more.

Fans immediately flooded Brian’s replies with well-wishes and get-well-soons, with a few questions about upcoming appearances.

Just yesterday, Brian and Keith had been in high spirits for an appearance on Loose Women, speaking enthusiastically about their tour.

Over the next week, Brian and Keith were meant to be performing in Norwich, Leamington, Glasgow and Nottingham, but it’s uncertain whether these festive dates will be postponed.

A VIP package at the princely sum of £75 would include a meet and greet with the pair, a photo opportunity, and priority entrance to the gig and merchandise stalls.

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier today that Louis Walsh had been planning a lucrative reunion tour for the other four members of Westlife.

Although former member Kian poured cold water over the idea, telling Ireland’s Independent newspaper that there hadn’t been any conversation among the Westlife lads for a reunion.

Well there’s been plenty from the fans, Kian, so feel free to sign up as soon as possible!
