Robbie Williams and Ayda Field rumored to host new chat show, potentially replacing Holly and Phillip

Looks like their TV crown could be stolen...

| Updated:

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have long enjoyed unrivalled affection in the hearts of daytime TV viewers.

But this could all be about to change next year as rumour has it TV bosses are desperate to sign a new presenter pair to steal their crown.

And – look away now, Hols and Pip – these two are married AND A-list. Double threat!

It has been reported by The Sun that Robbie Williams and wife Ayda Field are in the frame to host a chat show together.

There’s no real surprise here, really, given that Ayda has slotted in perfectly as a panellist on Loose Women.

During her tenure she has already persuaded hubster Rob onto the show numerous times.

And their chemistry in real life sparks brilliantly in front of camera, too.

The American beauty is happy for him to tease her mercilessly to get a laugh from an audience, but also unafraid to put him in his place.

The perfect recipe for a feisty TV duo!

One of those well-placed TV sources apparently told The Sun: “Robbie has a huge fan base and Ayda has become hugely popular since joining Loose Women.

“They have a bond which their followers love but they aren’t afraid to take the mick out of each other.

“Robbie knows Ayda wants to make it in TV and it’s something he’s always fancied a crack at. It’d be a surefire hit.”

Well, the ‘married-for-real’ formula certainly worked for Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan.

The husband and wife team ruled the roost at This Morning for many years, before moving to their own show on Channel 4.

The Sun’s ‘source’ continued: “Richard and Judy became an institution hosting This Morning and later on, their own show.

“Robbie and Ayda could easily be even more successful. They’re a great pairing.”

According to The Sun, the show concept “is now set to spark a massive bidding war between the major channels”.

We’re not convinced how long the couple would last in a pre-watershed slot, though.

Last month Ayda revealed on Loose Women that she sometimes fakes orgasms, prompting Robbie to admit that they are both “classic over sharers”.
