Ant McPartlin shares funny photo to mark Dec Donnelly’s 43rd birthday

Happy 43rd birthday to Dec!

Ant McPartlin has celebrated best friend Declan Donnelly’s 43rd birthday with a cheeky photo.

The Saturday Night Takeaway star made a rare return to social media on Tuesday to mark Dec’s big day with a brilliant photo.

His pic shows Dec beaming as he stands behind a dress being displayed on a hanger, making it look as if he’s wearing the frock.

Ant posted the image to the pair’s joint Twitter account with the caption: “Happy Birthday from the big one to the little one! A.”

He added a crying with laughter emoji.

Well, fans were also crying with laughter after clapping eyes on the snap!

One replied: “This is the best picture I’ve ever seen. It’s being saved to my phone and it’s gonna be my phone background.”

Another said, “That pic is brilliant!” while a third wrote: “I love this, best picture ever.”

A fourth added: “I’m at work & just having a quick nose & I’m laughing out loud thank goodness no one in.”

Hundreds more rushed to wish Dec a happy birthday themselves, with many pointing out it’s his first birthday as a dad.

Dec’s wife Ali gave birth to their daughter, Isla Elizabeth Anne, on September 1.

Ant, who celebrates his own 43rd birthday on November 18, has rarely shared anything to social media since March, when he announced plans to take a break from the spotlight after a drink-drive incident.

He will not join Dec in Australia later this year to co-host I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! marking the first time Ant’s ever missed the show.

Dec will instead be joined by Holly Willoughby, who will take a temporary leave from her role on This Morning to fill Ant’s shoes.

In a statement last month, Dec said: “Whilst I am obviously sad at the thought of being without my best friend in Australia this year, I am proud of the work Ant has been doing privately and I am fully supportive of his decision.

“I’m looking forward to us both being reunited on screen in 2019.”

Ant & Dec have also announced Saturday Night Takeaway will go on hiatus in 2019 and return for a new series in 2020.

The reason is usually work on Takeaway’s new series would have begun by now, but with Ant taking time away from work and the spotlight, that can’t happen.

ITV Director of Television Kevin Lygo said: “ITV is completely supportive of Ant taking as much time as he needs in his recovery and of this mutual decision to rest Takeaway in 2019. Ant is clearly making good progress and we wish him all the very best and look forward to him returning to ITV next year.”

Ant & Dec host a third primetime show for ITV, Britain’s Got Talent, which usually starts filming at the start of the year.

Over the weekend, Ant marked six months’ sobriety in a photo alongside an old friend, showing Ant looking healthy and happy.

His friend, Simon Hargreaves, shared the image to Twitter with the caption: “Long overdue catch up with my buddy of 20+ years for lunch this week. 6 months sober, annoyingly healthy looking, and happier than I’ve seen him in years. Immensely proud of this lad for his strength and determination to face up to his issues and get help.”

Ant replied: “Thanks pal. Really appreciate it. Lovely seeing you too.

“It really was long overdue.”
