It’s an announcement I think we can safely say none of us expected. Reality TV star Hugo Taylor, known for his role in Made In Chelsea, has made a shocking revelation that he wants to run for Mayor of London.
He reckons he can do a better job than most politicians because he “understands” London and lives in Chelsea. Hugo told The Sun’s Bizarre: “During campaigning, people are campaigning on personality over anything to do with actual politics.
“I keep thinking one day I’ll run for Mayor of London.”
If he really does decide to enter the political rat race he will have to wait until 2020 to be able to run for Mayor. So he’s got three years to get his campaign together!

But what makes Hugo qualified to run for such a high powered political position? Well he did go to a private school where he said politics was “drilled into your head” and he’s been involved in campaigning to help his local area, as he helped campaign against a station called Crossrail 2 being put on Chelsea’s high street.
He said: “I’ve always been interested in politics. Like it or not, I went to Harrow and there it’s drilled into your head and it’s a possibility.” We wonder what London’s current Mayor Sadiq Khan would make of all this!
Hugo, 31, does seem to care hugely about his fellow Londoners and making a positive change to the city, so who knows maybe he would be the best candidate for the next mayoral election?
He confessed: “I’m very passionate about helping people and I care deeply about London and I also care deeply about Chelsea. It’s where I grew up and anything I can do to help the area would be great. I really feel I understand it.”
He also wants to make a show about how Brexit will affect the UK’s exporting industry, and although his girlfriend fellow former MIC star Millie Mackintosh has yet to comment on his political ambitions we’re sure she would be very proud of her other half.
The couple, who have recently moved in together have had their ups and downs as during the first season of the reality show, when Millie was dating Hugo, it was revealed he had cheated on her with her best friend Rosie Fortescue.

Millie, 27, then started dating rapper Professor Green and they got married in 2013, so it was quite a shock when they divorced in 2015 and soon after she went back to ex Hugo who she is now said to be happy with.
We’re sure she’d be proud to be on the arm of the potential mayor if Hugo sticks to his political ambitions, so we’re excited to see what happens. Mayor Hugo Taylor has a kind of ring to it, don’t you think?
