This Morning viewers were left wondering how much gin from an earlier tasting Eamonn Holmes actually swallowed after he confused new Hollyoaks star, Adam Rickett, with former EastEnder, Joe Swash.
Poor Eamonn, who had just finished the gin-tasting with Ruth Langsford, announced: “Joe Swash is in the studio!” during a live link up with the Loose Women ladies. Oops.
The Loose Women were clearly baffled as former Coronation Street star Adam Rickett was sat between them, not Stacey Solomon’s boyfriend. LW presenter Christine Lampard joked: “That gin’s gone to your head!”
Viewers immediately took to Twitter to question Eamonn’s, er, spirited mistake. One viewer tweeted: “How drunk is @EamonnHolmes poor Ruth. He’s funny though keep drinking.”

Another praised Eamonn being tipsy on gin, saying moments like that are what makes her love UK daytime telly.

Eamonn defended himself by quickly passing the buck to the This Morning producer. He said: “Before we go any further, the producer told me Joe Swash was in the studio.
“Emma Morris was to blame!”
Things got too much then when Ruth pointed out he’d got that name wrong too – she’s actually called Emma Barrow.

Ruth then told her hubby that he’d obviously had a bit too much gin, adding: “Go and sit down over there with Rylan and have some water.”
Never change, Eamonn. But maybe line your stomach next time.
