Viewers not happy with Holly and Phil’s This Morning stand ins

The pair are off on their hols

Oh, This Morning viewers can be a mean lot.

Yes, we know Holly and Phillip can do no wrong in TM viewers’ eyes, but even they should find it in their hearts to be supportive of their stand ins when they are off on their hols.

But as it turns out it would seem not.

Rylan Clark-Neal and Alison Hammond had taken over the hot seat and you would have thought that fans would have been thankful that the show had been left in safe hands.

But no. No sooner had the show started on Monday and some viewers were on social media demanding the show’s producers kicked the pair off their screens and have Holly and Phil brought back.

For some reason, viewers seemed not to like Rylan and Alison and were not shy about expressing how they felt.

One nasty tweeter wrote: “[Worst] presenters on TV EVER!!! #ThisMorning.”

Another added: “#ThisMorning the worse 2 presenters ( I say that very loosely) on telly. Gutted, might as well be at work!”

Some moaners even vowed not to watch the show again until Holly and Phil come back.

This isn’t the first time Rylan and Alison have presented the show but last time they went down a storm with viewers.

So what’s changed? Bank Holiday Monday blues?

Recently Rylan and his husband Dan Neal were given a prestigious LGBT award for being the first gay couple to present the mainstream daytime show.

Speaking about their moment of the year award, Rylan told ED! that he was proud to have been honoured for being one of the first same sex couple presenting on TV, but said he hoped this would open the flood gates to more.

“When the opportunity came up we did it because we thought it’s not normally done and it might pave the way for others to follow,” he said. “Hopefully, in a couple of years time people won’t be winning awards just because they are two men.”

Holly is due back into studio next week and will present with Rylan, while Phil takes a second week off.
