“Sorry, we’re just a little shocked,” he began. “As soon as we came off air, Samuel said ‘I’m shocked I managed to get through the interview without passing out.’

“He’s fine, but as soon as he left our studio, he was flat out.”

Samuel was appearing on the show to talk about his undiagnosed illness that causes him to constantly collapse.

He introduced the hosts to his adorable dog, Lola, who is his carer.

His blackouts started eight years ago and at first he was just suffering three a year. But gradually they got worse and now the 22-year old gets more than one a day.

He can’t even leave the house alone for fear he might fall into the road.

But Lola’s one pretty special animal who gives him a warning if he’s about to have a blackout and also acts as his paramedic.

“If I’m sitting on the floor, she’ll burrow under my knees so I don’t fall,” he revealed.

“If I’m upstairs she’ll come to the bottom of the stairs and stare right at me so I’m not out of her sight.

“If I collapse, she’ll bring me round like a paramedic. She’ll put her paws on my shoulders and lick my face, she won’t leave me.”

Poor Samuel admitted his doctors are baffled and have tried all sorts of treatments and medication to help him, but nothing’s worked.

After his collapse, Holly reassured viewers:

“He’s got good care.”

And Phillip added:

“Hopefully they’ll find out what’s wrong with him at some stage.”
