This Morning and Loose Women cancelled due to Manchester attack

22 people were killed during a concert last night in Manchester

This Morning and Loose Women have been cancelled following the horrific bombing in Manchester last night.

Coverage of the heartbreaking attack has been shown this morning in replacement of the ITV shows, and will continue until 2pm.

Both shows announced the news on Twitter.

It was first believed that This Morning would air and would show live coverage of the aftermath of the attack.

They wrote: “Throughout today’s #ThisMorning with @Schofe and @hollywills we’ll be bringing you the latest on the Manchester terror attack – from 10:30.”

But it was then announced that the lunchtime show wouldn’t air and instead the ITV news would be taking its slot.

The This Morning team added: “We’re sorry but we’ve just been told we’re not going on air. @ITVNews have developments from Manchester until 2pm – we’ll be back tomorrow.”

Shortly after Loose Women, which airs straight after This Morning, announced that they would be coming off air too.

They wrote: “Due to the tragic events in Manchester last night we will not be on air today. @ITVNews will continue its rolling coverage until 2pm.”

They then paid tribute to the victims who were killed and injured in the awful attack.

They wrote: “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected in the Manchester attack . We will see you tomorrow at 12.30pm.”

22 fans were killed in the suspected terror attack, which took place last night at an Ariana Grande concert, and a further 119 were injured.

US star Ariana revealed she has been left “broken” by the awful news as she paid an emotional tribute on Twitter.

She said: “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.”

Meanwhile other famous faces have paid their tributes to the friends, families and victims involved in the incident.

Presenting his US talk show James Cordon paid his tributes as he said: “It shocks me every time we hear this sort of news that attacks like this can happen, but especially when there will be so many children at this concert tonight.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the everyone in Manchester tonight.”

One Direction star Harry Styles wrote on his Twitter: “I’m heartbroken over what happened in Manchester tonight. Sending love to everyone involved. H.”

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan added: “‘It was full of beautiful little girls and beautiful little boys.’ – eye witness to #ManchesterBombing. Just heart-breaking. RIP.”

American singer Cher also wrote: “MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO PPL OF MANCHESTER…HAD SPECIAL TIMES THERE FROM YOUTH & BEYOND.”

Actress Selena Gomez said: “My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected in Manchester.”
