The Voice’s ‘doting dad’ Jason Jones has secret daughter

Finalist denies claims

The Voice singer Jason Jones has been branded a hypocrite, after news came out that he has a secret daughter who he apparently never sees.

The 31-year-old, who performed in last night’s semi-final, had spoken about how becoming a father to his son Jax last year had changed his life.

But now an insider has spoke out against this image of Walsall singer Jason as a doting dad, revealing that he has a seven-year-old daughter who he has no contact with.

Former call centre worker Jason dated ex-girlfriend Danielle Doody back in 2008 and they had been together for two months when she got pregnant.

But when their relationship broke down the following year, she told a friend that Jason showed no interest in supporting their daughter Ruby.

“Danielle couldn’t believe it when she saw Jason playing the doting dad on TV,” the friend told The Sun on Sunday.

“Suddenly when there’s a camera around he couldn’t be more of a family man. He’s a real hypocrite.”

Not pulling any punches, the friend went on to describe how Jason and Danielle’s relationship quickly fell apart.

“Jason was arrested for drink-driving on New Year’s Day 2009 after turning up at her house smashed. He lost his licence for three years,” the pal added.

“But they moved in together in February and Danielle thought things would be fine after the birth. Unfortunately they went wrong fairly quickly.

“Jason took every opportunity to put her down. He was just a nasty bully really. Danielle had enough and moved out that July.

“Since then he has shown no interest in Ruby.”

Jason, who split from son Jax’s mum Collette Carthy during The Voice, denies the friend’s version of events.

He said: “I love my daughter and have tried repeatedly to see her. I’ve never had a chance to bond with her. The stress of it has been horrendous.”
