Police called to Saturday Night Takeaway studios in security alert

Four men reportedly tried to break in

The police were called to Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway last night – and not because of the criminally bad jokes or singing.

There was a security alert at the studio, following claims that four men had tried to break into the studio, and worried staff were forced to dial 999.

Shortly after the live show aired on Saturday night, police were called to ITV Studios on London’s South Bank.

A police van was pictured outside the studio entrance and three officers were seen entering the building and talking to staff.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were still in the studios, after just finishing the End of the Show Show where they had performed alongside Take That.

Band members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen were also still inside, as were Stephen Mulhern and Scarlett Moffatt, who both work on the show.

Fortunately the drama was over quite quickly, and all the celebs were later pictured leaving the studio, looking relaxed and smiling.

According to some viewers, it could have been the Fashion Police who had turned up to arrest Gary Barlow.

The singer had chosen to sport a rather unusual patterned ensemble for Take That’s performance of new single Giants, which had some fans wondering if he’d made his suit out of some old curtains!

And they certainly weren’t sparing his feelings, as they took to Twitter to question his sartorial choices.

“#TakeThat look like they got lost in a curtain shop or something what are they even wearing?” asked one. While another asked: “#SaturdayNightTakeaway Why is @GaryBarlow dressed like a 70s curtain?”

“WTF is Gary Barlow wearing on #SaturdayNightTakeaway it looks like an old carpet and it’s hurting my eyes” said a third.

But everyone was in agreement that the band’s final performance – where Ant and Dec stood in for Robbie Williams and Jason Orange to make Take That a five piece again – was almost illegally good.

Clearly having the time of their lives, the Geordie duo performed a medley of classic hits and joined in with the lads’ choreography.

It certainly beats Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble…
