Piers Morgan brands actress’s engagement a publicity stunt

Paula Williamson plans to marry notorious armed robber Charles Bronson

As everybody knows, Piers Morgan is not one for keeping his mouth shut, but this guest REALLY riled him up.

On the Good Morning Britain sofa today was Paula Williamson, the fiancee of 64-year-old armed robber Charles Bronson.

The notorious convict proposed to the Emmerdale and Hollyoaks actress on Valentine’s Day, and she wanted to appear on the show to defend her relationship.

Paula has known Charles for four years, but she has only met him FOUR times.

Charles, who has been locked up for 41 years, kept having his sentence increased for attacking prison staff and taking them hostage.

Of course, Piers Morgan couldn’t wait to start asking questions and he looked noticeably shocked that she was engaged to the criminal.

The 51-year-old host didn’t hold back, saying: “You’re marrying a man who spends 22 hours a day in solitary confinement. It’s a publicity stunt, isn’t it? Why else would you get engaged to him?”

Yikes!

Paula did her best to defend herself: “I wouldn’t get married to Britain’s most notorious prisoner if I was doing it as a publicity stunt.”

The ex newspaper editor Piers said: “Yes you would, it makes perfect sense. You’ve had bit parts in soap operas.

“There’s no other reason, it’s complete madness.”

Paula retorted: “I can understand that, but now I’m branded as Charles Bronson’s fiancee.”

Piers then pretty much shouted: “That’s what you want! You sought him out!”

Poor Susanna seemed a bit taken aback by the whole thing, but asked whether Paula was “frightened” of her lover.

She answered: “Charlie is the first to admit he’s done a lot of terrifying things and I’m aware of those things but the Charlie I know isn’t the same person who’s committed those offences.

“He’s made these mistakes but he’s a different character now.”

Is he?!
