Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has put himself up for a role on Coronation Street – as a love interest for Kym Marsh’s character, Michelle Connor!

While interviewing the soap star, Piers said he will “do whatever it takes” to bag the role.

The host even confessed that Kym was at the top of his “pin-up list”.

Piers didn’t hold back as he quizzed Kym on her real life boyfriend, Matt Baker. She replied: “I’m sorry Piers!

“All is going well, yeah, he’s lovely.”

It didn’t stop Piers putting himself forward as a potential partner for Kym’s character though!

Kym, who couldn’t stop giggling, said: “I would like to see that happen.

“We could do it for Comic Relief.”

The TV presenter seems to have really thought about this because he even had a possible storyline planned.

“Here’s how I see this playing out,” he said. “You and Steve are obviously going to break up over the love child.

“It’s going to happen.”

He added: “You’re going to want to turn to a comfortable pair of slippers. Enter, me.”

Earlier in the interview, Kym opened up about her recent storyline on Corrie saying it was “difficult” to film.

The 40-year-old said: “It’s given me something to get my teeth into really.

“It’s not the easiest storyline to portray, it’s one of those things where you are obviously taken aback.”

Kym tragically lost her son, Archie, in similar circumstances and said: “It is obviously a cause very close to my heart having lost my beautiful Archie at 21 weeks and five days.”
