The funny woman is heading back to TV after ill health with a surprise sidekick

She’s been off our screens for months due to a mystery illness, but the good news is, Miranda Hart is BACK on our tellies!

And the sad news is, it won’t be in her divisive sitcom Miranda.

Oh no. The lanky funny gal has decided to ditch jokes for a while and get all excited about all things green-fingered.

Yes, she’s going to be fronting a show about gardening.

Sounds fun, right?

Well, if you are keen gardener then this show is right up your street.

But this is a gardening show with a difference.

Miranda is teaming up with her gardening guru mother.

The show, Down The Garden Path With Dee Hart Dyke, will see the pair calling in on celebrity folks and everyday people who are having problems with their gardens.

So we’re guessing it’s going to be a bit like a gardening version of that show about troubled shops Mary Portas used to present where she’d make the best of a bad job!

In the three part series, which has been produced by David Williams’ production company, will air on More 4 and will see Miranda trying to whip her own bushes into shape as well as narrate the series.

“I may not know a thing about how to garden but my mum is amazing.

“She fills me with immense joy and laughter as she talks about her passion. The innuendos in gardening never seem to stop.”

This isn’t the first time mum and daughter have worked together.

The pair appeared on a special Stand Up To Cancer edition of Gogglebox.

Miranda has been keeping a low profile since last year.

She was forced to cancel appearances in a Call The Midwife Christmas special and new versions of The Generation Game and Up Pompeii due to illness.

She revealed during a stand-up show earlier this year: “I don’t feel myself at the moment because I was ill last year and wasn’t able to exercise.”

This was the first time that the actress had suggested that she hadn’t been in full health.

But it wild appear that she’s fit and well again as she is about to star in a West End production of Annie.
