Denise Welch hints at possible Loose Women return after acting focus and LA ventures

The former Corrie star sensationally quit back in 2013

The Loose Women panel has gone through so many changes over the years, but could we be seeing Denise Welch back on the show?

We’ve seen hosts chop and change from Andrea McLean, Nadia Sawalha and Ruth Langsford.

The Corrie actress was on the daytime chat show for ten years before quitting back in 2013, and has now opened up about the possibility of a return.

Revealing all to the Daily Star, the 58-year-old said: “I’m thrilled with the success of Loose Women. I think what they have just done is an amazing campaign but I have gone back to my acting.”

Ohh, we want her back!

The actress then added: “I’ve started rehearsals for Wind in The Willows at The Palladium so I am back to doing what I do best.

She also made sure she gave the ladies her support, adding: “But I wish them all the success in the world.”

Denise left after ITV boss Helen Warner hired Coleen Nolan and Kaye Adams. She also said she felt the show wasn’t as fun anymore.

“Yes, I’ve quit. I was hurt that the changes were made and kept a secret, and that the person responsible for the decisions hadn’t come and talked to me about it”, she told the Daily Mirror at the time.

“Every show needs a shake-up. But the way the show’s going, I’ve felt that my wings have been clipped. I feel the way the show is going is losing the fun of it.”

The mum-of-two has spent a lot of time in LA recently, and made a short film about depression titled Black Eyed Susan. It even picked up Best Drama at the Silicon Beach Film Festival.

Her husband of four years, Lincoln Townley, is said to be her “greatest supporter” when it comes to her illness.

Denise has been very open about her depression, and thanks Lincoln for his empathy.

In a campaign video for the Heads Together charity, she tells her husband: “When I met you, I’d been living with clinical depression for 21 years.

“As I was falling for you, I wondered how you would deal with my episodes of depression, which can sometimes be quite frightening.

“I remember looking into your eyes when I was poorly, and seeing empathy and understanding.

“Even in the midst of how I felt, I knew that you were going to be there for me, and that had been something I had been worrying about.

“You make it better just by being there, and just by understanding, and I feel very lucky that I’ve got you and that you’ve got my back.
