Katie Price eager to join Dancing On Ice as show confirms return

The Loose Woman panellist wants to join the show

| Updated:

Katie Price has teased that she’d love to to sign up for the next series of Dancing On Ice.

The skating show is set to return this year after it went off air in 2014, and it seems Katie’s very keen to go for a spin on the ice.

Following yesterday’s news that former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton is desperate to get her skates on, Katie tweeted a link to The Sun’s article about her pal, saying she too would love to join the show.

“I would so do this” she wrote alongside it.

Katie has appeared in reality shows before including Celebrity Big Brother and two stints on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, and she would be a huge signing for the show.

Olympic skater Jayne Torvill, who alongside her dance partner Christopher Dean trained the celebrities throughout the previous nine series, confirmed earlier this week that the ice show will return to our screens.

“I love that it’s coming back, it’s great news – I’m really looking forward to it,” she told The Sun.

“The show will definitely be refreshed but the basics will be the same, we will still be teaching celebrities how to skate.”

Jayne admitted Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard is her dream contestant as her son is a big fan. Now the athlete is retired from football, there’s a chance he might be looking for a new challenge.

Even if he’s not keen, the stars seem to be queuing up for a spot on the show anyway, with Michelle telling The Sun:

“As a performer you want to do something that you can learn fresh so you can build up your CV.

“I’ve never done ice skating and I’ve never professionally been taught dancing. It’s one of those shows I would love to tick off my bucket list.”

Ray Quinn is the reigning champion of the show, but it seems he’ll be handing over his crown very soon.

It’s rumoured that Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will return to present the show, even though Christine Lampard took over from Holly for the last three series.

It’s also been rumoured that judge Jason Gardiner, the Mr Nasty of the panel, is high on producers’ wish list for a return.

Jason versus The Pricey – now that’s something we’d love to see.
