Kate Gosselin reveals family will star in new series of Kate Plus 8

Reality star and her big brood are coming back

| Updated:

Reality star Kate Gosselin has revealed her family are set to star in a new series of Kate Plus 8.

It has been a year since the 41-year-old and her eight children, twins Cara and Mady, 15 and sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Leah and Joel, have been on television.

But now the big brood are back and ready to share their life with the public again.

Kate confirmed the news on Wednesday after replying to a fan on Instagram.

After posting a picture of her son, Aaden, snuggling with dog in a crate last week, a fan wrote and said how much she missed seeing the mom and her eight children on television.

The Australian fan said: ‘Wish you guys were still on television!’

Kate replied: ‘We are! Full Season of Kate Plus 8 returning January! Yay!’

However it is unlikely all of her children will appear on the TLC show, as Kate recently revealed son Colin is receiving in-patient therapy to deal with behavioral issues.

She explained to People: ‘Collin has special needs. He is now in a program away from home.

‘[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things.

‘This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own.

‘I’ve felt very alone in this.

‘By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him, our entire family has been impacted.’

Kate Plus 8 was originally a show about Kate and husband Jon, plus their children.

But after the pressures of raising their larger-than-life clan in the public eye tore their family apart, the couple divorced in 2009.

Jon was alleged to have cheated on his wife and the couple went on to have an acrimonious split.

While Kate continues to make a good living starring on the reality show, Jon has meanwhile struggled to make ends meet with jobs ranging from being a server at TGI Friday’s and working as a DJ.
