Celebrity Big Brother to feature famous couples in 20th series twist

Producers are apparently on the hunt for this duo!

Hmmmm… We’re still not sure if we like this format-tweaking idea, but Celebrity Big Brother bosses are supposedly trying to get famous couples into the CBB house this summer.

The shock move would mark the 20th series of the must-watch TV show which takes place this year.

The ‘couples’ twist, no doubt inspired by the success of Speidi, seems to be all the rage because producers of the civilian series are also looking for pals and couples to take part in this summer’s series too.

According to The Sun, it’s believed that producers are considering having ‘normal’ couples rubbing shoulders with the celebs – which we’re not sure about either.

These rumours come after it was reported this week that former winners Stephen Bear and Charlotte Crosby are set to return to Big Brother now they are officially a couple. (Of course, let’s see if they are still together come July!)

“It’s seriously early for anything to be set in stone but bosses are working hard on the idea and talking to the couples about big money deals to firmly secure them for the series in the summer,” a source has told the paper.

Among other names in the mix, are The Cheeky Girls,  ‘Fat Scounger’ Stephen Beer and his wife Michelle, and last week we reported that the ‘Peru Two’ Michaella McCollum Connolly and Melissa Reid are in the running.

We have also heard that producers are desperately trying to hunt down the girls who used to be known as one hit wonders The Reynolds Girls, who had a hit with the track I’d Rather Jack (Than Fleetwood Mac).

“Producers are keen to find some really out-there duos to surprise viewers of the show,” a source told ED!  “Among the choices are The Reynolds Girls who haven’t been seen in years and producers reckon it will give thirty-something fans of the show – which is the show’s main demographic – a bit of a treat!

However, the source says it’s proving difficult to track down the Liverpudlian songstresses who have disappeared back to obscurity, so if anyone knows where they are please get touch!

However sources have told ED that these rumours are very premature and that the likes of the Peru Two would probably appear in the civilian series which, like last year, would feature housemates with a media notoriety!
