Catherine Tyldesley wants on-screen mum back in Corrie for Eva’s heartbreak

It would be a good time for them to come back

When a girl gets her heart broken, the person she always needs is her mum. And that’s set to be true for Corrie’s Eva Price when she discovers fiancé Aidan has been cheating with best friend Maria Connor.

But does that mean there’s a return on the cards for Eva’s on-screen mother, Stella Price, played by Michelle Collins?

Actress Catherine Tyldesley, who plays scorned Eva, has revealed she would “love” her mum to come back.

“I’d love that – Michelle and Sue [Johnston, Eva’s nan, Gloria], it would be great to have a mum and a gran because I loved working with them so much,” she told Inside Soap.

It’s not the first time a comeback for Stella has been talked about.

Michelle herself recently told Soaplife that the possibility of a return to the cobbles wasn’t out of the question.

“Stella hasn’t been killed off and her daughters Eva Price and Leanne Battersby are both still there.”

It seems like the perfect time for her to come back. Leanne’s struggling as a single mum after the fall out of her one-night stand with Steve McDonald resulted in the birth of baby Ollie, and her fiancé Nick Tilsley couldn’t handle not being Ollie’s real dad, so left.

And now Eva’s set to discover Aidan’s been cheating, Stella’s never been more needed.

Catherine also revealed she’d like to see Stella bring Eva’s dad with her: “He left when she was three and that’s a big reason for her trust issues.”

Aidan certainly isn’t helping on the trust front, but when Eva discovers the truth, instead of confronting Aidan straight away, she decides to play the long game and make him suffer…

She comes back from a trip to France full of excitement because she thinks she might be pregnant.

Aidan has to quickly hide Maria, who he’s got in the flat he shares with Eva, and welcomes his other half home.

How Eva finds out about his cheating is a closely guarded secret, but what she does next surprises everyone.

Having confirmed her pregnancy by a test, Eva is more confused and hurt than ever.

Deciding to confront Maria about her deceit first, Eva is about to have it out with her, but when little Liam, Maria’s son, enters the room, Eva realises she can’t go through with it in front of the lad she herself is really close to.

Instead, she comes up with a plan to make sure Aidan knows exactly why she isn’t someone to be messed with.

Explaining Eva’s next move to Inside Soap, Catherine Tyldesley, who plays the scorned barmaid, revealed:

“It’s quite extreme – I don’t think I could ever do anything like this!

“If Eva was my mate, I’d advise her to walk away and show Aidan what he’s missing because this has got ‘backfire’ written all over it.

“Basically she wants to see him with nothing, and won’t stop until he’s hurting as much as she is.”

Sounds like she’s going to hit him where it really hurts – his wallet.

But will she let Maria get off Scott free? We doubt it!

Whatever Eva has planned for these two – and we know it’s big – they had better watch their backs because according to Catherine Eva the diva is back!

“She very much reverts back to Eva the diva!

“It’s nice to see the return of her feisty side.”
