Hollywood actor joins latest Celebrity MasterChef line up

It's not exactly a glittering list of stars

Celebrity MasterChef 2017 has announced its new line up of famous faces hoping to impress judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with their kitchen skills.

There are 20 well-known names who are getting ready to don their aprons and feel the heat of the kitchen.

Among them is Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Harry Potter actor Nick Moran.

Nick has been keeping pretty busy over the years with many TV appearances including in ITV’s DCI Banks, and a guest spot in the BBC’s Death In Paradise. But has he got what it takes to win in the kitchen?

Also in the line up is former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens, whose last stint on reality TV saw her come second on Strictly Come Dancing – and she still holds the record for the most perfect 10 scores ever. Will her time in the kitchen prove to be as much of a success?

Corrie’s latest signing Vic Reeves is also getting stuck in, as is Paul Daniel’s widow Debbie McGee, presenter Angellica Bell, and Googlebox star Reverend Kate Bottley.

Former Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington has swapped the Aussie jungle after her appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! a few years ago for the kitchen, and Ulrika Jonsson is also hoping to do well.

Newsreader Julia Somerville, radio presenters Aasmah Mir and Dev Griffin, opera singer Lesley Garrett, Outnumbered’s Tyger Drew-Honey, actor Brian Bovell, snooker legend Stephen Henry, and Blue Peter’s Barney Harwood are also taking part.

Union J’s Jaymi Hensley wants to win over John and Gregg, and the line up is completed by Citizen Khan’s Abdullah Afzal, singer Patti Boulaye, and former tennis player Henri Leconte.

Alexis Conran is the reigning champion of the show after triumphing last year. Other previous winners include Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt, Loose Women panellist Nadia Sawalh, and EastEnders’ star Lisa Faulkner.

Lisa is one of the many winners who has gone on to make a successful career out of cooking, releasing a number of books.

And she even found love on the show after meeting John Torode. They now live together!

Will any of this lot manage to better them?

It’s not the most inspiring reality TV line up we’ve ever seen – maybe their cooking skills will impress us and keep us entertained though.
