Googlebox fave Chris Steed got hitched last weekend and said he’s never cried so much.

Talking to Hello! after their special day, the hairdresser said: “It was amazing.

“Do you know what? You know how when you talk to married couples about their wedding day and they say it was the best day of their lives? Up until that point I didn’t believe that it could be possible. It was the most amazing day of my life and I know it was of Tony’s life as well.”

Aw!

When it came down to setting a theme, they had no question. Each table was named after one of Chris and Tony’s favourite divas.

Theirs was the Barbra Streisand table – “the Queen of the queens,” joked Chris – and there were other tables named after gay icons such as Shirley Bassey, Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler and Julie Andrews.

And their first dance was to a duet by Barbra Streisand and Bryan Adams called I Finally Found Someone.

They had their pics taken beachside, near the ruins of the West Pier, and wore the BEST suits.

Chris, 40, donned an aqua-coloured Dolce & Gabbana three-piece, paired with a white bow-tie, while 46-year-old landscape gardener Tony wore the most amazing floral suit with a red shirt and matching tie.

Tony must really like flowers!

Chris’s best pal and sofa buddy Stephen Webb was usher and gave an emotional reading, which set everybody off. “He’s a big softie deep down,” Chris said of him.

The newlywed also admitted that despite being normally very strong, it wasn’t the case on Saturday. “Tony always says I haven’t had an emotion since 1983 and do you know what? When I saw the flowers… I started choking up,” he said.

“I got up to my room and I saw one of my best friends and he looked at me and was like, ‘Are you alright?’ and I was like, ‘No!’ I’ve never cried like that.

“I usually have as much emotion as a brick and I was sobbing like a baby for most of the day!”

Making their day all the more special on Pride weekend, they thanked their guests for the “outpouring of love” and their support.

Chris, from Hove, East Sussex, said: “So many of our heroes have fought so hard over the decades to give us the freedom to be able to do that, we didn’t want them to be forgotten on our wedding day.”

On the run-up to his wedding, he also had an £8,000 hair transplant by Asim Shahmalak at the Crown Clinic in Manchester and wanted to look “gorgeous” for the big day.

The happy couple are now on a mini-moon in Sorrento, Italy, before going on a full honeymoon to New Zealand next year.

And as for kids?

“Never say never – I know we would be brilliant parents and you never know what is going to happen.”
