Evil Pierce Harris has been on Emmerdale viewers’ hit lists for weeks as he controls finacée Rhona Goskirk.
But now they’ve gone into meltdown over the possibility he could kill Vanessa Woodfield.
Appearing on today’s This Morning, actor Jonathan Wrather, who plays the nasty lawyer, skillfully dodged host Ruth Langsford’s question about whether Pierce is going to “get rid” of Vanessa – but he didn’t deny it.

Vanessa’s the only person in the village who’s really got Pierce’s number.
And after forcing Rhona into making a sex tape, Pierce saw a text on Rhona’s phone from Vanessa and it made him mad.
Needing to ensure she didn’t come between him and Rhona, he squared up to the vet, and told her to stay out of their lives, throwing insults about her drinking and being a bad mum.
But Vanessa wasn’t scared of him and she bit back, telling him:
“You threatened me in my home. The Maid of Honour thing’s a great idea, Pierce. Six whole weeks to convince Rhona you’re not worth looking at, let alone marrying.
“She’ll see sense, even if it kills me.”
And kill her it might, if Pierce has anything to do with it.
After showing a clip of the next episode, in which Pierce sets Vanessa up in order to drive a further wedge between her and Rhona, presenter Ruth probed the actor.

“[Vanessa] is on to you. You need to get rid of her, probably?” she asked.
“She’s been onto me from the beginning, she’s always had doubts about Rhona’s relationship with Pierce and yeah, Pierce is desperate to widen the rift between them.”
“That is because you are the most hated man in soap,” Eamonn chimed in.
Despite his rather coy answer, fans are convinced Pierce has Vanessa in his sights and will stop at nothing to get her out of his way.
“Well if that ain’t a foreshadow! Hope not I like Vanessa and not just because she has an awesome name!” tweeted @vanessabooty1.
@The_Gunn_Man knew Vanessa’s words last night would come back to haunt her: “‘She’ll see sense if it kills me’ That’ll be Pierce killing off Vanessa then? Yup.”
And @Finnsgearstick completely agreed: “Vanessa’s totally done for” he said.
