Emmerdale SPOILER: Ross steals from his own family

His plan isn't exactly foolproof

Apart from a spot of attempted blackmail on Robert Sugden that didn’t go according to plan, Ross Barton has been a bit quiet lately.

But that’s all set to change when he starts stealing from his own family to try and keep the Barton boys’ cab firm afloat.

In need of some cash quick, Ross has already asked his auntie Moira to buy him out of the farm after James left Ross some shares in his will, but she refused.

So now he’s resorted to stealing from her instead. And no, he’s not after her jewellery or expensive shoe collection – he’s robbing her cows!

Moira knows someone’s up to something and decides to guard her herd overnight, armed with a shotgun.

Hearing a noise, Moira fires her weapon, but doesn’t know that she’s actually hit something – or someone. But who?

Charity later finds Ross in the barn and immediately wants in on his plan, so she creates a distraction while he starts gathering the cows.

However, he soon spots Sarah Sugden lying injured in a ditch. She’d been trying to find her mum, Debbie, when she fell and twisted her ankle. Will Ross do the right thing and rescue her? Even though he’d put himself in the firing line in the process?

Moira soon finds out exactly what’s been going on and confronts the whole family. Emma’s fuming with her sons and asks Moira not to call the cops.

Moira agrees on one condition: Ross gives her his share of the farm.

The Bartons aren’t having that and soon enough Emma and Pete are in on Ross’s plan too!

They rope Leyla in to pretend she’s broken down, but things have gone wrong once before, so you can bet your bottom dollar they will do again!

Will Moira discover what they’re up to a second time and report them to the police this time?

Or will she realise how udderly ridiculous the whole thing is and let them off?

And just how will the Bartons raise the cash they need to keep the business afloat?
